MISSING DEER

Johalla Projects regrets to announce that Andrea Jablonski’s installation Urban Dwellers will be closed until further notice. One of the deer was stolen on Thursday, July 14th. Fortunately, it was soon found nearby. Considering that this happened while the other deer was undergoing repair after having been vandalized just 10 days earlier, Urban Dwellers will not be immediately reinstalled. 1st Ward Alderman Joe Moreno and Green Park Eco Garage Gallery’s Vicki Fuller and Grace LaJoy Little are working with us on the issue of appreciation and safety for public art in Wicker Park. We hope the community will work with us as well so that we can safely reinstall Urban Dwellers and bring other public art works to the neighborhood in the future.

Sorry to hear this! I know is disheartening when you are doing so much to bring art to the public level. The persons who did this act of vandalism are the same that get enjoyment out of “Cow Tipping”, same level of mentality.
